Doug Payne and Running Order Win at MCTA Horse Trials
Oldwick, NJ, USA
The pair were named to the 2010 USEF Developing Rider list following their 2nd place finish at the Fair Hill International CCI** last fall. This nomination allowed them to attend numerous training sessions taught by Capt. Mark Phillips, US team coach, and Grand Prix show jumper Katie Prudent. Their competitive results include wins at The Fork Horse Trials in Norwood, NC and Sporting Days Farm in Aiken, SC. Doug and Running Order also finished 3rd at the Fair Hill CIC**.
"I couldn't be happier with Running Order's performance at MCTA." said Payne of the eight-year-old Irish gelding. "This being his first Advanced, I would have been overjoyed with a top 10 finish, but to be winning after dressage and hold it to the end was icing on the cake." Running Order will continue to compete this summer and into fall with the goal of contending at the Fair Hill International CCI*** this fall. "If all goes well we'll be at Fair Hill CCI*** this fall, and hopefully contend for a spot on the Pan Am Games team in 2011.
Payne is an international rider who also holds USEF judging licenses. He is a USEA ICP Level III instructor and a consultant for Dover Saddlery. Payne owns and operates DP Equestrian out of Misty Hollow Farm in Oldwick, New Jersey, and has his sights on the 2012 Olympics in London.
