Bramham to run CIC3* in 2010
Wetherby, West Yorkshire, UK
Following the success of the CIC3* class in 2009, Bramham International Horse Trials will once again be running a CIC3* class alongside the existing Senior CCI3* and Bishop Burton College Under 25 CCI3* classes.
The CIC was run for the first time in 2009 following the cancellation of Chatsworth International Horse Trials. With less than three weeks to organise, the Bramham Horse Trials Office set about putting on a competition for those unlucky enough to be unable to run at Chatsworth. A 45 strong CIC section ran successfully, with Neil Spratt emerging the eventual winner. Following discussions, and requests from riders to repeat the class in 2010, Bramham has decided to permanently add the class to the timetable. The class will be restricted to 40 starters due to the timetabling of the Event.
Event Director, Nicholas Pritchard said "I am delighted to once again be running a CIC3* class alongside our existing classes. Next year will be the 37th running of Bramham International Horse Trials, and confirming this extra class to our already full and exciting timetable means that visitors to the Event will have plenty to see, and have the opportunity to watch more of our top riders in action. I also hope that it gives the riders the opportunity to bring a perhaps less experienced horse to Bramham to take in the hype and atmosphere of a top level event such as this".
The inclusion of the CIC3* class means that the cross country on Saturday will start at around 9.30am, and run until about 4pm, giving Saturday visitors a full day of excitement. Other attractions at the Event will be announced soon, but it promises as always to be a fun and varied day out for all the family.
The Cross Country Course will follow a shortened track to the CCI classes, and our new course designer, Ian Stark, is currently finalising the design of both courses. The new courses promise to take in plenty of the wonderful features of Bramham Park, some of which have not been used before, and will therefore have a slightly different feel to 2009.
