British Eventing Regional Director In The South To Retire
Robert Mackenzie spent his early career in the military and then went on to work in the Brewery trade. Following a lifelong equestrian interest he joined British Eventing in 2004 as a Regional Director, with a significant responsibility for the Fixtures calendar. He is now looking forward to enjoying life at a more leisurely pace and spending time with his family in Somerset.
Robert says "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at BE and working with some very dedicated people passionate about our sport. I hope to be very visible on the Eventing circuit for many years to come with my daughter and her young horses that she is producing."
"Robert has been a fabulous asset to the business. His knowledge, enthusiasm and professionalism will be missed by all and I am sure you will join me in thanking him for all that he has done for BE. We wish him well in his retirement and look forward to being able to call on his experience as and when needed" said Mike Etherington Smith, BE Chief Executive
"His exact leaving date is yet to be decided but will be somewhere in the Autumn of this year. As to his vacant position and the continuation of work in the Region, this is an opportunity to review our activity and more news to follow" said Mike.
