Horseware Ireland Commits Half A Million Euro To The Irish Equestrian Sector
At a joint launch with Horse Sport Ireland at the Failte Ireland Dublin Horse Show today (Wednesday 5th August) in the RDS, Horseware Ireland committed 500,000 euro to the equestrian sector over the next four years. The centrepiece of the agreement is the launch of the new 'Team Ireland' horse and rider kit and clothing range, which will be provided to all Ireland's equestrian squads and their coaches for the next four years.
This element of the commitment alone will provide retail support of 250,000 euro to Irish athletes who represent Ireland.
The remainder of the support will come in the form of sponsorship at grassroots level, with Horseware Ireland committing to support, amongst other things, the Premier Grand Prix and Pony Grand Prix at Louth County Show, the Horseware Young Event Horse Series and the Horseware Amateur Showjumping Championships at the RDS.
Horseware Ireland will also continue to support the Irish Pony Club and Riding Clubs initiatives over the four years, bringing the total support up to 500,000 euro.
Horse Sport Ireland Chairman, Joe Walsh, said that he was delighted to launch the new 'Team Ireland' line, in partnership with Horseware Ireland, and he noted the huge commitment they have shown to Irish equestrian sport.
"Horseware Ireland is an internationally successful Irish owned company. They have consistently supported the sector here in Ireland with sponsorship at grassroots and at elite level. I am delighted that they will be the official suppliers of the 'Team Ireland' line," he said.
Horseware's Managing Director, Tom MacGuinness, said: "Over the last number of years there have been exciting developments in the equestrian sector thanks to the development of Horse Sport Ireland. We believe that recent successes by Irish riders and teams is a reflection of this and, if maintained, it will surely yield medals in London."
