BC riders Hawley Bennett of Langley and Chelan Kozak of Abbotsford finished in the top ten in the CCI 2* division, while Therese Washtock of Summerland records her second CCI 1* win of the season at the 9th Annual Galway Downs Three Day Event, held November 1-4, 2007, in Temecula, CA.

Kozak was the top Canadian rider with Tasman Sea, her nine-year-old New Zealand Thoroughbred gelding. After dressage, Kozak was standing in 20th place in the field of 25 starters, on a score of 68.1. The pair recorded only 0.8 time penalties on cross-country and produced a clean show jumping round to finish with a score of 68.9, which was good for seventh place overall.

"Tasman Sea and I have been struggling with our dressage," noted Kozak. "We have been working hard with Olympian Leslie Reid and Pia Fortmuller and the help has definitely paid off. I am really excited about this horse, because his jumping is really fantastic."

Bennett riding Stacy Oliphant Williams' 13-year-old thoroughbred gelding Gifted Guru, finished in ninth place. Bennett jumped a clear cross-country round completing the course and capped off her competition with a clear show jumping round to finish with on her dressage score of 70.

Riding The Rock, the seven-year-old Canadian thoroughbred cross, Therese Washtock of Summerland, BC, finished in 17th place with a score of 92.3

Close behind Washtock was Kozak and Tammy Cruickshank's 10-year-old thoroughbred gelding, Higher Ground, who finished in 18th place with a score of 93.4.

Other Canadians competing in the CCI 2* division were Manuela Propfe of Tucson, AZ, riding her own Such Depth, a nine-year-old Quarter Horse gelding, who finished in 20th place on a score of 112.1. Kerry Johnston of Summerland, BC, and her nine-year-old Canadian Warmblood gelding, Warrick finished in 21st place with a score of 139.6.

Heather Morris, of the United States, won the CCI 2 * division with Genial on a score of 47.9.

In the CCI* division, Washtock and her homebred gelding Chesterland, a nine-year-old Thoroughbred gelding, won by finishing on her dressage score of 51.4.

"The event was fabulous and Ian Stark's cross-country course rode with an old style flavour-galloping with a high intensity but not trappy at all," remarked Washtock.

In the CCI 1* without steeplechase division, Sabrina Glaser-Levere of Langley, BC, finished in 21st place with Heinz Glaser's eight-year-old Thoroughbred cross gelding, Hypona Zambesi on a score of 63.7 and also finished in 28th place with Hypona Nicodemus, a six-year-old Rheinlander gelding owned by Heinz Glaser, with a score of 70.9.

Julie Norman of Kelowna, BC, and her 16-year-old Canadian thoroughbred gelding, Sauvignon, finished in 23rd place on a score of 67.5 while Jane Otterstrom, of Langley, BC, rode her 11-year-old Canadian thoroughbred gelding, Fox Worthy, to 30th place. Suzy Elliott of Yelm, WA, and her seven-year-old Canadian Thoroughbred gelding finished in 37th place.

Tiana Coudray, of the United States, won the CCI* without steeplechase division with Ringwood Magister on a score of 43.2.
