Tattersalls International Horse Trials 2007 - Saturday
Tattersalls, Co. Meath, Ireland
Leading Irish rider in the CCI** - Elizabeth Powell
William Fox-Pitt (GBR) came home clear on cross-country with Trinity Hill and has taken over top position in the CCI**.  Andrew Nicholson (NZL) on Eric notched up 0.8 time penalties and subsequently moved down to 2nd position. Irish rider Elizabeth Power (IRL) on Kilpatrick River went clear and is lying 3rd. Polly Stockton (GBR) is holding 4th and 5th place. Zara Phillips (GBR) showed why she's World Champion when bravely taking the straight route at the troubled water fence, and flew home clear and is lying now in 9th place on Glenbuck.  Austin O'Connor (IRL) was a fell at the water but his other horse Lily of the West is lying 10th.

Sabine Florkemeirer (GER) on Cristall-Noir is the new leader in the CCI* following a dressage of 41.0 and clear cross country.  Andrew Nicholson (NZL) has two mounts in the top 5 with Avebury who's 2nd and Mr. Cruise Control in 4th.  Matthew Wright is 3rd on Grove Joucas.  William Fox-Pitt is currently in 5th and 6th position. Yesterdays' leader Fraser Duffy (GBR) was pushed down to 44th position with 22.4 penalties.

The 2nd water fence was the talk of the day when over 14 riders fell at this fence in the CCI* & CCI** classes. The route was made easier for the CCI** and only 3 riders took the direct route.

Course builder Tommy Brennan commented "it's very unfortunate, I cannot understand why this happened, in my lifetime I've never had so many fallers at one fence. Thank god nobody was injured"
