New Plans for Punchestown
Naas, Ireland

Punchestown, the Kildare based Three Day Event and Horse Show which runs from May 17th until May 20th, 2007, this year includes an additional One Star Class offering producers the opportunity to showcase some of their younger, less experienced horses in front of an international audience.

Welcome improvements for competitors in the form of permanent on-site stabling for all horses, lorry parking on hard standing courtesy of the management of Punchestown Racecourse, and improved catering and competitor entertainment have also been made.

Competitors have the chance of taking home part of one of the largest prize funds in eventing, generously supported by The Irish Horse Board, with over €64,000 on offer in 2007. The Three Star class alone is worth €15,000 to the winner.

On the cross country course, a massive development and rejuvenation process which includes the relocation of the start and finish is underway thanks to a €40,000 lottery grant.

This year's event is offering the following three day eventing classes Three Star, Two Star, Young Rider Two Star and the new One Star. There will also be the Young Event Horse Classes for 4 & 5 year old horses, a full programme of national show jumping, Hunter Horses & Ponies and the famous Hunt Chase.

The full FEI schedule is now available and entries for the three day event classes will be accepted online. A form is available on the event website at to sign up for information.
