Caroline Pratt Memorial Training Bursary

The Memorial Bursary was set up by Caroline's family to help aspiring young event riders achieve their full potential. Caroline was an outstanding role model for any young person who wishes to enter the eventing world. Confined to recipients living in Cheshire for the last two years, the £2000 bursary has been put to good use by previous winners.
The 2005 winner Hannah Bate has used the monies for training which helped her to finish in the top ten at Blenheim last year while 2006 winner, Emily Gilruth, having spent time establishing a team of young horses, won an award for the most successful horse in its first season.
Applications are now invited for the 2007 award. To be eligible, you must: a) be between 18 and 30, b) be working, or intending to work, fulltime in the eventing world and c) you must live in one of the following counties - Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire, Cumbria, Northumberland or Yorkshire. Initial applications are invited in writing detailing your experience, competitive success, goals for the future and full contact details. The closing date is Tuesday 27th February.
From the initial applications a shortlist of riders will be drawn up and they will be invited to a selection day at Somerford Park, Cheshire on Tuesday 27th March 2007. Ridden assessments both on the flat and jumping and an interview will be overseen by a panel of selectors made up of international riders and trainers to decide the winner.
