Ontario Names 3 Day Event Teams for 2006 North American Junior and Young Riders' Championship

The Ontario Young Riders 3 Day Eventing Team has been named for the 2006 CN North American Junior and Young Riders' Championship, to be hosted August 1-6 at Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, VA.

The two-member CCI* J  Preliminary Level Team will consist of Meghan Bailie and Mata-Riki of Enniskillen ON and Denise Lukacs and Apollo of Shelburne, ON.

The four-member CCI* YR Preliminary Level Team will consist of Dana Carlin and As Time Goes By from Elizabethtown ON, Amanda Doucette and Charlie Horse from Carleton Place, ON, Kendal Lehari and Understudy from Uxbridge, ON and Robyn Miller and T'Jean from Milverton ON.

The Intermediate level Riders who have qualified for the F.E.I. CH-N.AM-Y CCI** and will compete on the three-member team are Jessica DiGenova and Upolu from Norval ON, Kelly List and Minstral from Bracebridge, ON and Waylon Roberts and Paleface of Port Perry ON.

All riders competed throughout the season and followed a set of criteria based on percentages agreed upon by the Ontario Young Rider selection committee. Part of the criteria included out of province competitions with qualifying results, consistency in competition results, soundness and fitness, competitive attitude as well competition results.

The Head coach is Ian Roberts of Port Perry, ON who was selected to represent Canada at the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen Germany. Also coaching the riders will be Advanced level competitor, Jennifer Irwin of Puslinch, ON. Acting as Chef d'Equipe of the Ontario Team will be Julie O'Connell of Amherstburg ON, while Jennifer Campbell of Delta, ON will act as Team Manager.
