Rebecca Farm to Host Silent Auction as Part of Halt Cancer at X Campaign
Rebecca Farm has announced that it will host a silent auction to raise money as part of its Halt Cancer at X campaign to fight breast cancer. Organizers are soliciting contributions for the auction that will coincide with the Competitors' Dinner on July 26th.
The annual Event at Rebecca Farm is an equestrian triathlon that attracts more than 500 competitors and thousands of spectators July 24-27. Halt Cancer at X was started in 2012 in memory of The Event's founder, Becky Broussard.
"We have set a philanthropic precedent in the equestrian world with our Halt Cancer at X initiative," said Sarah Broussard, organizer of The Event. "Last year we raised over $70,000 to support breast cancer awareness, community outreach projects, and national research for the cure."
Hundreds of eventing enthusiasts, riders, participants, and community members attend the annual Competitors' Dinner. Contributions to the silent auction will be acknowledged in The Event program, on the website, and in the Hospitality Tent during all four days of the competition. Contributions to the auction are requested by June 29.
The July 26 dinner is open to the public and begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children under ten. Tickets are available at the Hospitality Tent during The Event or by calling the Farm office at 752-3276.
